8th – 14th October
Queensland Mental Health Week is an opportunity to acknowledge the importance of mental health and wellbeing, to reduce associated stigma, and to celebrate the service of mental health workers.
Our goal in 2017 is to encourage more Queenslanders to value their mental health, while working together to reduce stigma.
About half of all Queenslanders will experience some form of mental illness during their lifetime. We all have a friend or family member living with a mental illness.
Anglicare Central Queensland’s Mental Health Team work hard within dedicated programs to provide individual, peer, and carer support, as well as group programs and activities for our regional, rural and remote communities across Central Queensland.
We work alongside people who experience severe and persistent mental illness; people who experience episodic mental illness; and carers of people who experience mental illness. Our professional team works within a strengths based framework, which allows support to participants through a collaborative and coordinated approach in achieving their goals and to create a sense of wellbeing within their lives.
