Welcome to the Southern Region

Let me introduce to you the Southern Region of Anglicare Central Queensland, spanning from the Coral Sea to the hinterland of the Banana Shire in the west.   This region boasts a natural deepwater harbour, agriculture, dairy and grazing areas, mining, rich natural resource deposits and community support for responsible industrial development. This region is recognised as a strategic and logical choice for industrial, commercial, retail and residential investment and generates almost one-quarter of Queensland’s wealth.
 
Services in the Southern Region are managed from Gladstone, just over an hour’s drive south from Rockhampton, with a Family Resource Centre in Biloela, a little over an hour’s drive inland from Gladstone and in Moura, which is a further forty minutes drive or two hours drive from Gladstone on the coast.
 
The Southern Region employs around 20 fulltime staff, 15 part-time and 30 casual staff who have and continue to work together to create momentum, build new and expand existing community & industry partnerships and lay a firm foundation for the delivery of quality evidence based services.
 
The staff are devoted to assisting people in an environment that values people experiencing challenging and critical life events.  We promote community connectedness and offer hope for change.
