Anglicare Central Queensland was born from the Anglican Church as Careforce, an organisation seeking to support children in need, that itself was originally St Georges Homes. This long tradition of connection to the Anglican Church, continues, not only in the name of Angli - Care but in the strong and real partnerships that we have with the different parishes in the Diocese of Rockhampton.
In all, there are 20 individual parishes in the Diocese of Rockhampton, each with its own distinct congregation of parishioners, local community and individuality. Where there are Anglicare services in the parish, we aim to create strong bonds of friendship to work together to bring support and assistance to the vulnerable and disadvantaged.
Through our various activities we aim to bring the teachings of Jesus Christ to life through action that keeps both the parish and the community connected through service and charity. Each parish has different social support activities, but as a service focus, we aim to provide food provisions in as many parishes as possible. This may take the form of non – perishable food, through to provision of a meal. We are only limited by our wonderful volunteers and we encourage you to contact either your local Anglican parish priest, or your local Anglicare if you would like to join us in assisting the less fortunate in your community.
