We have a range of services that seek to offer support to people in the community with the outcome of strengthening resilience in individuals and families, leading to increasing social inclusion and thereby strengthening communities. Research indicates that people and families with multiple and complex needs experience disadvantage that is cumulative and interlinked and can lead to negative outcomes. In the study, key issues identified were not having enough money; the high cost of housing and frequent moving; the need to balance work and parenting; worries about children; the impact of complex mental health conditions and family violence.
We provide services at our centres that assist families and individuals with the range of problems and difficulties that result in social disadvantage. Our goal is to work with people to develop increased capacity and confidence to better enable them to become connected more constructively in their community. We aim to listen to people to better understand their needs, to take their individual needs into account and to strengthen the connections between those in need and our services and those of other providers. In working with individuals and families we work with the community and fulfill our purpose “. . . to assist individuals families and communities to live life to their fullest potential.”
